Data can do all sorts of clever stuff. Everyone is talking about using data to make informed decisions, show insight and solve problems. Data is the new oil. The new Money. The future.

If you have a problem the answers are in the data. Simple.

You know this. You are a data warrior, primed and ready for action.

Hmmm. Kinda right….. but we are missing an important piece of the jigsaw. Perhaps the most important piece.

Data is an extremely powerful tool that we can use to solve a problem but how do we know what the problem is in the first place?

Who is it a problem for? Why is it a problem and how might we solve it in a way that pleases everybody?

Sounds obvious but understanding the people involved in a challenge, their needs and desires, what makes them tick and how you might use these in order to tackle their challenges is key in delivering successful solutions.

This fun and informative workshop will introduce you to how Glasgow City Council is using the methodology of design thinking to help address some wicked challenges facing the city. We will introduce you to some of the collaborative tools and techniques we are using to better design our solutions and show the real difference the design process can make to ensuring your data projects deliver the correct insight and added value to every project.
