This event will discuss how we can better communicate and converse with the public on how our data is used in health and care.

We think there is a need to better and more simply explain how people’s data is used within health and care. We believe that this would help build more public understanding around data usage, enable constructive dialogue around it, unlock more its benefits and potentially assist people to make more informed decisions (for any consent options on how their data is used).

Our event will therefore showcase a new tool - a short-form engaging jargon-free video - which simply introduces the use of healthcare data and we will discuss how we are collaborating with other organisations to amplify the reach of this and helpful lay information on data.

The ALLIANCE are a third sector intermediary for health and social care organisations with over 2,100 members. Our aim is to support people with long term conditions and their carers to have a stronger voice in the health and social care landscape. Our event will take place at our offices (349 Bath St) in Glasgow.

The target audience is the general public, public, academia, private and third sectors. We hope 20-30 people will attend.
