We are planning to hold events in 3 locations:
Aberdeen – Town & County Hall - 11/03/2019
Stirling – CodeBase – 13/03/2019
Dundee – V & A - 18/03/2019
These events are aimed at the general public and those who have an interest in the use of public data. The target audience size is ~50 which is matched by the chosen venues. All organisations will be present in each location.
There will be a range of talks and demonstrations on topics ranging from: what we are doing to understand the needs of users’ of our data; how we measure the progress of government in Scotland; what’s available on Scotland’s official statistics open data platform and how to access it; what geographical data we publish and share; how Scotland’s population is changing and the implications of this, and some of the work taking place using local health data. There will be plenty of time for contributions and questions from the audience.
We provide free open data for everyone to use. By talking about what is available and how to access it, we promote collaboration through data. Our role is to provide data and analysis that is used to improve decision making, stimulate research, and inform debate. We want to ensure that the data we collect today really does inform the future of Scotland.
